Download codes are unique numbers printed on a business card, post card, flyer, or jewel case insert for a CD. Artists can go to an event carrying a small stack of paper instead of boxes of CDs. Each code is valid for one dowload of a specific album. Since the code was purchased at the event, no further transaction is necessary.
